Biography
Studdert-Kennedy’s research interests include speech perception, the early developments of speech perception and production in infants and young children, and the evolution of speech. He is the author of over one hundred journal articles and book chapters as well as the editor or co-editor of six books. Since retirement in 1992, he has been a member of the organizing committee of biennial conferences on the evolution of language held in Edinburgh, London, Paris, and at Harvard. He is a former President and Director of Research at Haskins Laboratories.
