Welcome to the Fifth Ultrafest Conference, Haskins Laboratories

Ultrafest V, the 5th meeting of researchers interested in using ultrasound for linguistic investigation will be held in Haskins Laboratories in New Haven, CT from March 19th, to 21th 2010.

The meeting will be divided into two parts: a hands-on session to demonstrate ultrasound machines and ancillary equipment (Friday, March 19th, 2010) and general sessions which will consist of oral and poster presentations on technical issues of ultrasound measurement and theoretical questions based on results from ultrasound (March 19-20-21, 2010). There will be, in addition, a targeted session on comparisons of ultrasound and MRI techniques (March 20th, 2010).

Building on the success of the previous 4 meetings in New York university, University of Arizona and University of British Columbia and Haskins laboratories, we are looking forward to providing a new opportunity for presentation and discussion of current theoretical and methodological research in ultrasound research.

In addition to oral and poster presentations, two invited speakers will be presenting talks:

Yoram Yekutieli, Hadassah Academic College and Weizmann Institute
Biomechanics and control of the octopus arm
Also: The Octopus Project

Hemant Tagare, Yale University School of Medicine
Lessons from Ultrasound Image Analysis of Cardiac Images

Looking forward to seeing you in New Haven.
