Many items can be downloaded and hardcopies of most can be ordered free of charge (single copies, up to 5 titles per order) right there online. The Department also maintains a list of Language Arts Links. For resources not developed by DOE, try searching the web with on GEM (Gateway to Educational Materials), a searchable database supported by DOE to aid in the dissemination of classroom ideas and other learning resources. GEM provides a more precise search for educational resources than you will get with a general search engine.
