This weblet is a demonstration of the SineWave Synthesis (SWS) system developed at Haskins Laboratories, New Haven, CT. by Philip Rubin. It demonstrates the use of this program in the research of Rubin, Robert Remez, and their colleagues.
The weblet is based on a HyperCard stack (HyperSWS) that was developed by Philip Rubin at the suggestion of Dr. Carol Fowler, President of Haskins Laboratories, to demonstrate the phenomenon of sinewave replication at the Haskins Laboratories Board of Trustees Meeting, on Nov. 4, 1992.
An additional inspiration for the original HyperSWS project was to illustrate this form of synthesis at the meeting of the Psychonomics Society in St. Louis on November 13, 1992.
This is version 2.0 of the SWS page (November 26, 1996).
