March 20, 2006: Network Outage Update
The network rewiring project scheduled for Saturday was completed. All network connections, including access to printers, to electronic mail, and to and from the internet should be re-established. Please contact Richard Crane if you notice any anomalies.
Expanded Network Storage Server Soon Available
The Laboratories has recently purchased a new large capacity ( over 6 Terabytes possible) file server. We are in the process of finishing configuration and testing. Shortly there will be announcement about how it can be accessed, both by research groups interested in buying a dedicated allotment, and for individuals' general use.
New Intel-based Macs
We have our first Intel-based Macintosh in the lab. Alice Faber is testing out what does and doesn't work on it, and keeping a blog of her experience. Feel free to contact her with concerns or questions via email or blog comments.
