Nineteenth Annual Meeting

GENERAL INFORMATION

The nineteenth annual NEST (New England Sequencing and Timing) conference is scheduled to take place in New Haven, Connecticut, on Saturday, March 7, 2009. The meeting is open to anyone interested in sequencing and timing. Attendees from outside New England are especially welcome.

A call for titles of presentations was issued on January 12. The program typically fills up very rapidly. Abstracts are due by February 15. The final program will be posted about two weeks before the conference.

The venue will be Haskins Laboratories on the 9th floor of 300 George Street, a large office building at the intersection with College Street. You must use the 300 George Street entrance and sign in at the security desk before taking the elevator upstairs. Continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided.

The registration fee is $40 for non-students and $20 for students. It can be paid in advance via PayPal to repp@haskins.yale.edu or by mailing a check payable to Bruno H. Repp, Haskins Laboratories, 300 George Street, New Haven, CT 06511-6624. It also can be paid on arrival at the meeting in cash or by check (but not by credit card). Receipts will be provided on request. There is an ATM in the lobby of the 300 George Street building.

Individuals wishing to attend selected talks without partaking of the food and drink are welcome to do so without paying the registration fee. However, they must register on entering the Laboratories.

After the conference, we will go first to Bar (254 Crown Street) for drinks and then to Bentara (Malaysian, 76 Orange Street) for dinner. Every non-student coming for dinner should bring enough cash for partial payment of a large communal bill. It has become tradition to invite all students for dinner. However, if the number of students exceeds that of non-students, students may be asked to make a small cash contribution.
