T-112: Postdoctoral Fellows in Reading Research
(Carol A. Fowler, PI)

Research Goals. The aim of this five-year project is to attract individuals interested in our work on reading development and the causes of reading failure. It funds two postdoctoral fellows per year. Post docs are funded for a period of two years. This will enable us to train eight post doctoral fellows.

Current Status. The grant was funded beginning April 1, 2002 for five years. As of the fall of 2002, we had recruited four postdoctoral fellows, Dina Moore-Brancazio, Julie van Dyke, Bianca Sumutka and Brett Miller. Dina is working with Ken Pugh and others on A40, project 4 on brain and behavior relations in reading. Julie van Dyke works with Donald Shankweiler and Dave Braze on sentence level reading. Bianca is working with Susan Brady on A40-5, and Brett is splitting his time between Donald Shankweiler's grant (reading comprehension) and Carol Fowler (eye movements and speech perception).
